Wigwam for winding up the sun

Has anyone else ever heard the phrase " wigwam for winding up the sun" . It was something my Nanna (my Mum's Mum) would say to us as kids in the 60's, if we asked about some object, say. We might ask "what's that" and if she, either didn't quite know, or it was too complex to explain to us or was a bit of a secret, she would say "it's a wigwam for winding up the sun". We never questioned this for years. But now long after her death I got thinking where did it come from? I've asked my Mum and she doesn't know, but thought it may come from Ireland. Or is it just one of those saying that only exist within a family.
