A "found phrase":

SWIPE CARD TO SUCCESS - "The language is becoming a swipe card to success. The majority of jobs in the media are Welsh speakers." Wales: Finding Its Voice. National Geographic, June 2001. Page 62.

I guess this replaces "ticket to success." Swipe card being a debit card used to purchase things. Right?

Right, or a credit card. Supermarkets here accept both kinds of cards for purchases and cash.

A swipe card is also used in many businesses to allow (or limit) an employee's access to certain rooms or sections. Thus, a "swipe card to success" would mean the ability to open doors of opportunity.
