: We all know the phrase "his eyes were bigger than his stomach" (he imagined eating more than he could, so put more in his plate than he should). The other day I heard somebody say "his imagination was larger than his hands" .. meaning, from the context, his imagination was greater than what he could accomplish.
: Anyone have any more phrases along this line (that being that imagination goes beyond what we tend to be capable of doing)?? - Patty
For a few years I've been grousing about everything taking longer to do than one would think when planning to do it: "Thought has wings. Action has only feet." I make no claim for it as a set phrase.
