Where'd that expression come from?

This is only indirect evidence, but "w h o r eson" as an insult applying to a man is found as early as the 14th century (Oxford Engl. Dict.). "Bitch," meaning a lewd woman, was in use at about the same time and was a less vulgar word than now.
