Can anyone help and explain the phrase/Saying - " I've said my Piece (Peace)"

Is it Piece or Peace ??????

Piece. Back when education contained a much greater element of memorization, students memorized "pieces," poems or speeches or flagwaving acculturation. Similarly, recital "pieces" are memorized performances on a musical instrument. Very similar. So when someone gets past the anxiety-producing act of making a small speech, this phrase is one conventional way to express relief and finality. (Hope you won the bet.)
