Who wrote the slogan 'Go to work on an egg'

I believe it was Fay Weldon, who used to work
as an advertising copywriter.

I heard it was Salman Rushdie of "Satanic Verses" fame. Also wrote "Gotta Lotta Bottle" Can't confirm this though!
