It's an annual with a name derived from its appearance, with red flowers flowing down to the ground.. Question: is love an annual, or a perennial?

Mad love/bad love is a weed, choking a garden of hopes and dreams. (How's that for purple prose on a Sunday morning? I was going to work in "bad seed" but thought that was going too far.)
