I blame the coprorate world
Amidst "moving forward" and "adding value", a new term has crept into the workplace jargon (at least here in the midwestern US) - "socializing". This is used when special arrangement or consideration needs to be finagled, as in: "We'll have to push our dates out a week. I'll socialize that with management."
I think I'll buy a lottery ticket on the way home...
Because we are all, of course, "socialized" to believe that it is okay to "-ize" people rather than discuss, inform or debate with them. What next, "transitionize"?
Everything is an acronym, abbreviation or buzzword. It seems to be *the* way to communicate.
