: Does anyone know the origin of the phrase 'A Bag Of Daz'? It is used extensively in the police as a phrase meaning a particular job or report is rubbish or is not of any value or credibility.

Other than offering the fact that Daz is (or was, I don't know if it is still sold) a brand of soap powder, I have, I'm afraid, no idea.

Perhaps a 'bag of Daz' would make something clean, ie give it a (spurious) appearance of wholesomeness or whatever?

But I'm just musing, really.
