Bogey eyes

Over the holidays we spent time with my brother's in-laws. The dad wanted to reserve something for himself and said "I bogey-ize that". I don't know how it would be spelled, and maybe it was "bogey eyes". The thing is that my dad used to use a similar phrase that I thought he made up: "I boney eyes that" (again, no idea how he would have spelled it. Is this a more common phrase than I thought? How is it spelled? Where did it come from? Thanks for any help on this!
