Every ounce goes through your mouth

In Dutch we have a saying: every ounce goes through your mouth. Meaning that if you don't eat to much you will not get fat.

I was wondering whether it is also used in English or if there is a comparable phrase in English?

I've never heard it. A moment on your lips and a lifetime on your hips. The best exercise is pushing away from the table.
