Texas Sayings

Found this Texas Monthly article while looking for something else. www.texasmonthly.com/ ranch/sayings/index.php Some are familiar to me from my West Virginia childhood. Same gene pool.

Most of those are new to me - but then, I've never been to Texas.

Lots of my people came through West Virginia and Kentucky and then went on to Texas. There are probably PhD candidates out there using common sayings to track migratory patterns. I've ordered both of the Anne Dingus books. Of course. Ms. Dingus has: He couldn't pour rain out of a boot with a hole in the toe and directions on the heel. W.Va. version: He couldn't pour piss out of a boot with directions on the bottom.
