Does anyone know where the phrase "Hang my star" comes from?

I've heard the phrase but the meaning eludes me. Couldn't find it in any of my references. Does it mean make your presence known, set up shop? The only hanging of a star that I know about is in show business. As in: "There's No Business Like Show Business" -- Yesterday they told you you would not go far/That night you opened and there you are/Next day on your dressing room. they've hung a star
