In the late 1970s in Kentucky, I heard a coworker say something scared the peawadding out of him. He was an old gun enthusiast. I believe he shot a Kentucky longrifle. So I searched online and found a reference to Federal Reenactor Authenticity Guidelines www.destateparks.com/ fdsp/reenact/fed.asp and wadding was mentioned. Podwads, I've never heard.
