My chariot awaits
Does anyone happen to know the origin of the saying 'my chariot awaits'? I'd like to know approximately when it came into general usage. Many thanks.
It sounds like a line from an old movie. Also, "Your chariot awaits, my lady."
Is the phrase really in general use? Or is it just a humorous anachronism? In any case, I'd like to hear the rest of it appended: He: "My chariot awaits without." She: "Without what?"
