'**** on a shingle' note-Having been served **** on a shingle during my military service I am well acquainted with both the phrase and the product. Obviously the visual impact of such a dish influences the name however did you notice that it is also an acronym? SOS - the usual verbal reaction to discovering what's for lunch.
