Sleeps till Christmas

"Sleeps till Christmas" The first time I heard this expression was in the Muppet Christmas movie called The Muppet Christmas Carol . In the movie a song they sang had the phrase "only one more sleep till Christmas". Since then I have used the phrase with whatever number of sleeps left.

It sounds like how one would describe the passage of time to a little child.
