A good game played slowly - does this mean take your time, be careful and a positive outcome is more likely? Origins?

There are only 3 Google hits which are not copies of each other which suggests to me it is either not at all popular or is a variation of something else. I would guess that you have the right general idea. It reminds me of Mark Twain's remark that golf is a good walk ruined.
