: For quite some time recently, I've constantly came across the kind of expressions like: As you poke through those emails or... poke through a website/blog... but I'm not sure what the phrase "poke through" means on those occasions. I've searched posts of the past, but I didn't find an answer. Anyone here knows sth, pls drop a comment and I should be appreciate. Thanks a lot guys!

Merriam-Webster says it well: intransitive verb

2 a : to look about or through something without system : RUMMAGE - poking around in the attic.
