As hard as old Harry

Anybody heard the phrase "as hard as old Harry", or know where it came from?

I Googled "hard as old Harry" and didn't get a single hit, so I don't think the whole thing can be a common phrase. "Old Harry" is a euphemism for the Devil (like "Old Nick").
