Cheaters never win

Hi I'm try to find out if there is such a phrase as " cheaters never win & liar's never prosper, or it might have been "liar's never win and cheater's nver prosper" Or was Nana making up her own phrases :-)

I've heard "cheaters never win and winners never cheat".

The phrase I am familiar with is 'cheats never prosper'. The word 'cheater' is uncommon among Eastpondians; one who cheats is simply a 'cheat'. I have no idea why there is this distinction.

The phrase, however one words it, is of doubtful accuracy.
