"screaming match"

Hi, could someone explain me what the phrase "screaming match" means.
Thanx a lot!!

It means that two people are yelling at each other so loudly you'd think they were having a competition to see which could scream the loudest.

A disagreement may turn into a debate, which could become an agument and then, finally, degenerate into a screaming match in which neither person hears the other. Pamela
