: I just looked up "you bet your bippy" and found that it seems there is no certain definition of "bippy" or "bippie". I have assumed that "bippy" came from the Dutch word "bips" which means "ass". It was a word used by my family who spoke Dutch. However, I could not find the word in my Dutch:English dictionary, so I'm not sure how widespread the term is in Holland.

No matter where it comes from, it is a more genteel way of saying, "You bet your ass!" I don't think that most of the people who say this care whether or not bippy has an actual meaning. SS
