Two phrases

Posted by Sarah Gough on October 07, 2005

Just two phrases that my father often uses:

a) spending money like a man with no arms (might be reference to the Life of Riley explanation I found in the archives)

and

b) how's your belly off for spots: how are you?

I've only found one other person whose family uses (b) - they lived in the East of London, as did my family.

Grateful to know if anyone else uses them, or knows their origins.
