What does mid-life kicker mean?

perhaps it is the answer to the mid-life crisis?
the period around 38-42 when people look at what they are and compare that to their dreams and ambitions.

Usually used for a product or product line. Some sort of minor enhancement to prolong the selling period of an older product before the next major "new" version comes out. "Kicker" as in something to either "kick it in the a**" or "kick it up a notch.
