My grandfather was fond of the phrase
"He/She/They should be shot with **** and hung for stinking." Origins please?

I have never heard it. But I love it and am stealing it.

I've heard (and used) a variation here in Ireland: 'He should be shot with shovel-fulls (sic) of cow ****!' Sorry I don't know the origin.

Cattalac -- where did your grandfather live? And when did he say this?
