: : : I have been searching for the origin or meaning of the phrase fat and happy. I cannot find anything. Does anyone have an idea of where I can find this info?

: : I heard it in the 1970s. And it meant unaware of some pending problem. "Here I sat fat and happy while my partner was draining my bank account."

: A related phrase is "fat, dumb, and happy". I don't think the extra "dumb" changes the meaning much if at all. That's the one I'm familiar with.

I have heard 'fat and sassy!' SR
