Johann Georg August Galletti (* August 19 1750 in Altenburg; March 16 1828 in Gotha) was an German historian and geographer. In the present Galletti's fame is not based on his merits as a academic, but on his reputation as a creator of a few hundreds of stylistic howlers becoming a legend as Kathederblüten (teacher's howlers) originated during his time as a grammar school professor in Gotha. So he was named the absent-minded professor of Gotha.

It is also a Disney movie from 1961 starring Fred MacMurray and "Flubber."
