Ahead of her time

"ahead of her time'

Her thinking, actions, wardrobe, or whatever was so advanced that it seemed to be from some future era. She was ahead of everyone in her time period.

From Merriam-Webster online:

Main Entry: ahead of
Function: preposition
1 : in front or advance of

It seems to me "ahead of [ones] time could be positive or negative. "Ahead of her time" could mean "premature".
