What's another way of saying "Up to the eyeballs and alligator"? Could be vulgar from what I hear. Thanks

Is not the phrase you refer to "up to one's eyeballs in alligators"? Not vulgar, so far as I know, but my guess as to its meaning and usage would be useless to you. SS

When you're up to your a** in alligators, it's hard to remember you're there to drain the swamp.
