This expression is growing in popularity. But where does it come from?

From farmers bringing vegetables to town. Meaning, "Do you think I just road into town on the turnip truck?"

A similar one is 'Do you think I just came with the last shower of cabbage?' = 'Do you think I'm stupid?'
