Follow your nose?

Does anyone know what "Follow your nose" means?

It means to meander with a mazy motion as in "What a nice day so why don't we follow our noses and take a walk".

I'd be more inclined to define it as "it's obvious, right in front of you, look straight ahead and you'll see it."
