Need help on the following sentence:

"Paws, Inc. is created by local boy-made-good Jim Davis."

What does "boy-made-good" mean?

It means a local citizen who became famous:
"Paws, Inc. was created by a local boy who has become famous. His name is Jim Davis."

SFC, the placement of hyphens in the sentence you quoted is misleading. "Local" and "boy" go together. "Local-boy-made-good" would express the meaning better.
