Go swing your hook
In the playground scene in Pink Floyd The Wall (DVD)the adult male stops the boy, Pink, from following by saying "Go swing your hook...".
Does "go swing you hook" just mean quit following me or does it mean go do some specific activity on the playground that boys do..or something else entirely..?
It's 'sling your hook', not 'swing'. It means 'go away', 'clear off'. It's used in many situations and doesn't have a particular context.I don't know it's derevation.
