: What does "bay" mean in an Emergency room?
: A doctor says to a nurse,
: "Get this patient to a bay, stat!"
: "Put him(patient) in bay 1."

: Is it a special isolated room in the ER? Or is it a small section surrounded by one of those white curtains? The picture doesn't really show what kind of a place it is, so I am not really sure how to translate the word.
: Would somebody please help me with this word "bay"?

A bay in that sense is an alcove or recess in a wall. It's not a room with a door. The small section with a curtain is probably it.
