What does this mean?

"The road to a friends house is never too long" Danish Proverb...i think I know but don't want to wrong and use it the wrong way one something...please help

It's a way of saying that friendship is important. Visiting a friend is always worthwhile. If you're a good friend, going there won't seem difficult.
