Miss the sea???

can someone please tell me the meaning of "Miss the sea"?

It depends on the context, but it could be that someone who was raised by the sea and now lives inland could say "I miss the sea".
In this example 'miss' means to 'suffer from the absense of something' and not the sense of 'not hitting a target'.
