Patton for a dance

Posted by Maddog on November 15, 2002

I was listening to a comedic group (Disk Jockey's in Tulsa, OK I think) of phone pranksters who use an alter-ego personality Roy D. Mercer. He is famous for calling and making unfounded, illegitimate accusations. Once the other party starts refuting them, he makes threats, in a very unrealistic manner (albeit very funny), suggesting that he is going to whoop somebody's ass. He made the comment to the angry reaction of the person getting the prank "hey boy I'll whip you like Patton for a dance". I don't know if I have the spelling down correctly or have interpreted the saying correctly but I can't figure out what "Patton for a dance" means. Any help.
