Origin of quote: "I do not like that man. I must get to know him better."

Googling the phrase I found a few home-grown web sites giving credit to Abraham Lincoln.
However, in trying to confirm the quote with more official sites via boolean text searches I found no speeches, letters or any mention at all of your quote.
I will keep looking for you.
