: I have heard (and used) the term ****load. How much or what is a ****load? A friend of mine and I decided (jokingly) that it is thriteen. Any ideas?

This seems to have come into wide use in the UK an the past few years, although I can recall it from the 1960s and may be much earlier. The bowdlerised version is shedload and this crops up in TV comedies before 9pm etc.

How much? Lots; many shovelfulls.
