Hard or soft?

I came up with this by accident when explaining the phases of the moon to my (then) three year old

When its white on the right, its bigger tonight
When its white on the left, that's all that's left

Sounds good to me.

And if the moon is between half circle and full it's a gibbous moon. But is a 'Jibbous' or 'Gibbous' moon? I say 'Gibbous' with a hard 'G.' Am I correct?
