The phrase "Coyote Ugly"

No, not the movie! Coyote Ugly is also a play by Lynn Siefert. I'm thinking of directing it and am curious as to the meaning/origin behind this phrase. Since a play was titled this, as well as a movie, I figure there most be some origin of its meaning out there somewhere. If you have any info. I would be greatly appreciative.
