Song lyric
In Etta May's song "At Last" she refers to her "heart wrapped in clover." What does that mean? Does it mean anything at all?
Thanks
Etta James? Or is this someone else? Just curious.
It's Etta James according to www.allmusic.com. There are a few "clover" expressions - to be in clover for one, means to be extremely happy or in an ideal situation. I suspect that if one's heart (as the seat of one's emotions, figuratively speaking) were wrapped in clover, then one would also be ecstatically joyful. On the other hand it just might be a reference to some kind of cannibalistic Martha Stewart-esque recipe, but I severely doubt it.
