Godspeed

can someone please email me and explain what the term "godspeed" means...I was raised in a Christian home and was provided with a private Christian education and until I was an adult I had never heard this term and still do not understand it....as I said..please email your respones to me...as I probably will not EVER be able to find this site again...lol
