: Has anyone heard the saying (something like) "Having a bird's nest on the ground is..." Don't know the entire saying; but if someone does and knows what it means, please share that.

"A bird's nest on the ground" describes some thing or some situation that is rewarding to the owner in a very big way.

Oil,drug,tobacco and banking companies look upon the Bush administration as a "bird's nest on the ground"---easy pickings just like an alley cat coming across a helpless nest of little birdies that fell out of a tree.
