: : can anyone help, im in a band and we are looking for a name for our first recording.
: : We had ideas of somthing along the lines: to be different, outcast's, to not conform e.t.c we are looking for words or phrases nothing to long though
: : thanks
: The Irish word for 'being outcast' is 'scoite,' pronounced (sorta) 'skutch-eh.' Call yourselves 'Skutchy.' It sounds grotty and you'll have no end of requests to explain its meaning.
: And I want commission if you become famous!!
I just got a book about unusual words from different languages. I'll be on the lookout for interesting ones.
And speaking of Irish, this book says there's no word for "yes" and "no" in the Irish language. Celtic, I guess I mean.
