"sky begins to fall" means???

Hi!

In the following stanza...

"If you need some place to hide,
you can hold my hand for a while.
If your sky begins to fall,
I'll stay with you 'til you smile."

What does "sky begins to fall" mean? Does it mean "feel like crying" ???

Do reply if anyone knows...

Just guessing: Given the context, it most likely means "If you start feeling depressed," "If you feel a bad mood coming on."

The sky falling is similar to "if your world comes crashing in".
In other words "Things" aren't going the way you wished they were.-as in unfortunate instances, bad luck etc..
