If you act right
I was talking with my boyfriend and asked him something and he answered me with "if you act right". So I asked him what that meant and he laughed and said you have to be southern. So I think I know what he meant but not sure exactly.
Guessing at what he meant. If you behave yourself -- act right -- you will get a reward. Act like you're somebody. Be a model of good conduct and dignity. And don't "act ugly."
Like ESC, I'd have to guess at his meaning. You should have told us what you asked him, since "acting right," in the eyes of a boyfriend, does not necessarily mean following the precepts of our parents or the church--or being a model of good conduct.

I feel a song coming on:
If you want a do-right all-day woman
You've got to be a do-right all-night man.
