If you aim at nothing, you will hit it

what does this mean..."if you aim at nothing, you will hit it"?

If you don't strive or try for a goal, you'll achieve nothing.

A related saying that I've heard is "He aimed low and missed", meaning that he set himself a goal that was much too easy and failed to achieve even that low standard. Pamela

Douglas Adams' said that anyone can fly. Just throw yourself at the ground and miss.

DELUSION -- There is no greater joy than soaring high on the wings of your dreams, except maybe the joy of watching a dreamer who has nowhere to land but in the ocean of reality.

Mind you, there's nothing as funny as the real motivational posters - one that used to hang in an exworkplace of mine was "For every action there is a purpose". Pamela
