I do not see a problem with the development.
The forest is quite visible. It is the trees that are not visible
to those that control the forest. Quite simple, really.

It's interesting that the phrase didn't develop in the way you posed it.

Perhaps not seeing the forest is the more common vice.

Once again, would everybody STOP ERASING THE PREVIOUS POST(S) when you submit a follow up. It's rude. Leave stuff in place, so one can just click on the last post and see the whole thread.

For example, I had to click and click through multiple levels of this thread, just to find that this started with someone creating a new phrase and then asking other people to define it. I could have bailed out sooner.
